THIN FOLKLORE
Exploring Liminality Within Welsh Folklore & Mythology
Liminality exists within all cultures and societies, stretching back over thousands of years. Through the lens of folklore, we can see liminality has played a powerful role within these stories and tales and together we will be exploring some examples that can be found in Welsh Mythology as Nos Galan Gaeaf and Samhain, the most liminal time of the year, approaches.
In this workshop, we will be delving into some Welsh folktales and stories, analysing the liminal elements and their connection to magic and Annwfn, the Welsh Otherworld, and having a bit of a refresher on how you can work with liminality. Together, we will go on a journey to link all of these elements together, and understand the power of liminality more intentionally.
Folktales aren't just ancient- they exist in the modern day too. One infamous example is the Nun of Llangranog, and we will be looking at modern examples too!
We will be sitting around a digital campfire, getting into the spirit of this time of the year, so you can take these stories forward and feel a deeper connection to them through the lens of liminality. Stories will be shared and a guided meditation and share circle will bring us full circle at the end.
This workshop is £14 GBP and will be happening over Zoom on Thursday 29th October at 6pm. Replays will be available, but for the best experience, come to the live event.

Mickie's course On the Threshold about liminality was powerful and transformational for me. Not only did she create a safe space, but she helped us explore the edges which can be scary. Mickie was so generous in her knowledge gained both from her personal experiences as a liminal witch and from her research of our ancients. She gave us information, space to ask questions, and practical tasks so that we, too, could find and enter those points of transformation. I've long wanted to learn from Mickie and I will be looking for more of her offerings.

ABOUT ME
I am Mickie Ravyn, also known as The Liminal Witch and I am a Welsh Hedge Witch living in the South Wales Valleys. I have been a practising witch for well over a decade, specialising in walking between worlds and blending my love for witchcraft, High Strangeness, Welsh Folklore, and the digital realms together.
I teach other witches about the power of liminality and liminal spaces while also helping new witches get started on their journey. Through the power of my voice, combined with the power of the stars, earth and awen, I create musical liminal realms that others can collaborate in and become a part of.
I bring a fusion of unique magic to every workshop & video I post. As a non-traditional, self taught witch, I aim to bring others into the craft by showing them that the magical path is accessible & different for all.
Through my own research and spending countless hours trying to understand thie phenomena of Liminality in as many ways as I could, I realised that while everyone in the mystic realms knew of liminality, there was a severe lack of teachers, guides, and places to learn about it on a deeper level.
After fumbling around in the dark for a while, I decided to be the torch that would guide those interested through the threshold. It is my life’s purpose and mission to help people understand liminality as more than just an internet aesthetic and how it can truly transform your life in ways you’d never imagine, just like it did for mine.
